Personally, I like the McGees, but they are far from the only thing to discuss in MacDonald's canon. It hadn't occurred to me to check out the film and TV adaptations, but it's a cool idea. MacDonald didn't have much luck in this area (though some of the one-off TV adaptations, for example for the Alfred Hitchcock TV show are said to be good). His finest hour on film would, I guess, be Cape Fear. With my preference running to the Scorsese version.Andrew Cartmelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13006683245337354886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3618321368988528322.post-83570116272743750932017-03-05T19:01:20.158+00:002017-03-05T19:01:20.158+00:00I'll be interested to see those future posts. ...I'll be interested to see those future posts. I've read a few of his Travis McGee books, which are not really my preferred thing but the early ones are a window in time to 1960s Florida which is interesting in and of itself.
Will you be watching any of the movie or TV adaptations as you go through the books?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0531792/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3618321368988528322.post-31573220006270415212017-03-05T19:00:53.712+00:002017-03-05T19:00:53.712+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
