What a disappointment that this was the result. However, I should urge you (and everyone) to see the movie and judge for themselves. Indeed I still have a soft spot for the series. They first mooted a big screen remake in the early to mid 00s, so its a shame to hear that after nigh on 10 years in development hell - with such diverse and interesting names as Frederick Forsyth (script) Nicholas Winding Refn (director) Liam Neeson, Sean Bean, and my own personal choice Ciaran Hinds (star) all attached on and off over that time - they released a film that has pretty much mucked up such a winning formula.
